19 May 2020

The NSW Government has recently announced a gradual easing of COVID-19 restrictions. Most of these measures relate to the number of people who can gather at the same time.

In keeping with the government advice, MIT Institute will gradually re-open our campus and return to face to face classes from the 25th May 2020. To comply with social distancing guidelines, all students will return for two (2) days, and continue with online classes for the remaining days of the week.

It is important for all students to be reminded that strict social distancing measures will be enforced by both teachers and staff. You must stay at home if you are sick, even with mild symptoms, or have been advised to self-isolate.

While on campus, all students must:
・ Always maintain a 1.5-meter distance from other students, teachers and staff
・ Use the provided hand sanitisers to always disinfect your hands upon entry
・ Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze
・ Avoid contact with frequently touched surfaces (lift buttons, door handles, light switches etc.)
・ Keep to a maximum of 2 people in the elevator

Regularly touched surfaces will be cleaned every four hours, or when visibly dirty. Please observe and comply with health-related signage and given directions. All teachers will reserve the right to send students home if they display symptoms of ill-health.

Students will be contacted at a later date with further details on which days their class will be held face-to-face.

MIT Institute will continue to update students and staff as information is made available. Please contact our Student Services team on 9267 5777 or info@mitinstitute.nsw.edu.au for more information and assistance.

Kind regards,

MIT Institute Management
